What is Speech Therapy?

Speech Therapy provides evaluations and treatment/rehabilitation of adults or children who have difficulities with communication, cognition, voice, or swallowing. Our goal is to assist with facilitating functional communication skills and/or to achieve the least restrictive diet possible in those patients with swallowing difficulties. If an individual is not able to achieve independence in communication, speech therapy can offer education, counseling and strategies for both the individual and his/her family for the most effective method of communication. We also treat individuals with Austism Spectrum Disorder with emphasis on reducing behaviors to enhance communication, socialization and pragmatic skills within their functional everyday activities.
